Closing air vents can cause a build-up of pressure in your air ducts that can put extra strain on your HVAC system that will only land you with repairs down the road. Also, you don't save money as you are still using the same amount of energy to heat your home but now have uneven heating across your home due to some closed air vents.
Do Seal Up Cracks
If you find cracks around your windows or doors across your home, take the time to seal them up with caulk or weatherstripping. Not only can insulation help you spend less on your energy bills, but running your HVAC system far less often can reduce strain on the motor.
Don't Skimp On Maintenance.
The worst thing you can do is skip out on regular maintenance in an attempt to save an extra buck.
