Meals for Heroes

How does my service contribute to providing a meal?

For every drain clearing service completed in November and December, we’ll donate a holiday meal to a Veteran or military family in need, in partnership with Operation Home Front.

Food insecurity affects nearly 1 in 4 military families and over 10% of Veteran households, leaving many struggling to put food on the table, especially during the holiday season. This campaign allows us to bring comfort and support to those who have served.

Operation Home Front is a nonprofit organization committed to supporting America’s military families. They provide critical assistance, helping families overcome financial hardships, and ensuring stability for those who have served our country.

Smart Home FAQs

What Is a Smart Home?

A smart home is a house that is constructed with technology that can be managed over the home’s internet connection. In a smart home, your day-to-day appliances can be controlled using a smartphone, tablet, or a desktop.

With a smart home, you’d have more control over the key energy users in your home. In many cases, with most smart homes, they have features that give you the ability to see your home’s energy consumption for the month, week, and day. As a result, you will be able to change the way you spend money on energy in your home.

The best time to install home automation is when building new or remodeling an existing home. If you want a total technological renovation of your home, it is best to have it done while the house is being constructed because of the heavy wiring required.

If more simple work for home automation is needed, rewiring will not be necessary. For these solutions, you can buy devices that should be compatible with the existing setup. Choosing this option means you can always add on later if you desire more for your home automation.

No, it is not necessary to make your whole home a smart home. Some people only want a few things in their home, and others might want to go for the gusto! It really depends on what you want. We can help you achieve whatever smart home goals you have.

There are 5 benefits of home automation.

1. Control – Having control of your home’s settings, even when you are not home, is empowering and helps give you piece of mind.

2. Safety – There are quite a few home automation devices that are parallel with home security systems. Some components have cameras and/or audio recording capabilities that can send you notifications remotely from the smart device.

3. Convenience – The primary reason for home automation is to create convenience for the user. There are a multitude ways that devices in the category can do just that. An example of this is, if you decide to turn down the A/C a few degrees while you’re out of the house. You can do this while you’re away, instead of wishing about it.

4. Comfort – Some people desire having home automation for no other reason than they can do what they want in the comfort of your home. Want to modify the brightness of your lighting? You can do just that without having to get up by diming the lights from an app on your phone. This is one feature that can help.

5. Peace of mind – Peace of mind is fundamental, and that’s a great benefit of having a smart home. Parents can feel safer when their children are playing in another room because of the cameras and other technologies built into home automation systems.

Yes, it is still possible for you to obtain the devices to have a smart home. Many of these devices only require connection from wi-fi. If you have wi-fi, you should have no worries!
