Eddie Vaughan founded Fast of Florida, Inc. in 1972. Following a hitch in the U.S. Army in the 1960's, he began his service career working for companies like Sears and G.E. in the Washington D.C. area. Upon return to the Tampa Bay Area, he took a position as maintenance man in the Treasure Island apartment complex where he was living. He thought about the maintenance contracts that the larger companies were providing at the time, and realized he was providing the same type of service. Condominium construction was starting to boom during this time, and he thought the owners of these properties would appreciate a local, more personal level of service. Through that personal service, the company has continued to grow, mostly by satisfied customers "word of mouth."

| Eddie passed away in 2005, and today his wife Melissa oversees the daily operations. Melissa's commitment to not only the customers, but also the staff, continues to improve the level of service provided. |
